The galax gtx 1080 EXOC was going pretty cheap so i jumped on it. Was playing BF1 last night and i was wondering if you guys think the performance of my card is decent considering the rest of the rig is old.

Specs
i5 2500k @ 4.5ghz
16GB RAM @ 1600mhz
Galax GTX1080 EXOC (clock speeds in came in)

BF1 settings
1920x1080, DX12 on, GPU memory off, everything ultra, TAA on, HBAO on.

Frames
Running around not much going on 90 - 100fps
Constant mild action idles around 70 - 80fps
Absolute chaos heaps of players on screen, tanks, explosions, packs everywhere 55 - 65fps. Has never gone in the red has hit yellow but otherwise most of the time in the green..

Sounds about right to me, if you're looking for somewhere to get a few more frames though, you could dial down the lighting/shadows as that stuff is pretty expensive, like HBAO is pretty expensive. Really though, you don't need to, I'd be happy with that fps

change to Direct X 11 and frame rates should increase.

I cant complain thats for sure, on my GTX680 it was pushing to get 60fps on low settings was in the red most of the time at around 40fps to 55fps. This is a massive difference, im actually getting decent K/D ratio now...

Will try this, much difference in eye candy between dx11 and 12?

Holy s*** guy's thanks for the heads up on this. Reason i didn't bother trying this was because if my 680 didn't have dx12 on, it would just crash the game and give me some dxerror. Ive gained a massive performance lowest it dipped was 71fps otherwise it was constantly steady around the 80 to 90fps sometimes maxing out my monitors refresh of 120fps.

Spoke a little to soon, did get red dips at times in the 40fps zone which shocked me a little. BUT! it only happened on certain maps. Specially SUEZ. I don't believe its the hardware this game has its issues...Monte Grappe was running flawlessly at around 90 - 120 dipping lowest at around 75fps. Ballroom Blitz ran the same as Monte Grappe along with Amiens...Maybe its just the sand maps that have issues.
