GPU overheating

Hi,

Ive recently built my first PC using PC partpicker.

Specs: i7 9700, 3.6GHz 8 core processor

EVGA RTX 2080Ti 11gb GPU

ROG Strix Z390-e Mobo

Corsair H100 V2 liquid CPU cooler.

Ive got 2 fans blowing into the case from above. The cpu cooler fans blowing through the radiator into the case from the front. A third fan at bottom front blowing into the case and 1 fan at rear of case blowing out.

Ive overclocked the gpu and am running the gpu fans at 100% while gaming on ultra settings.

Problem is when I put the tempered glass cover on the Fractal meshify case the gpu overheats. It sits around 71 to 75 C when the case cover is off and running ultra settings on tomb raider.

Any advice on what I can change or do to lower the temp of this gpu would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Gav

Hot air rises. You're trying to blow warmer air in through the top and the warm air inside has to flow back down and out. Instead have the top fans blowing air out and the bottom ones blowing in.

What temp is it hitting with the panel on? when you say its overheating is it actually throttling your clock speed when you have GPU-Z open?

You definitely shouldn't be needing to run you fans at 100%.. If your getting mid 70s at 100% fan speed with your panel off then that would suggest to me a cooling issue with your GPU not so much a case air flow issue.

For perspective my overlocked 1080ti runs high 70s to low 80s when gaming at around 73% fan speed.

It was up around 80c when the cover was on. I dont know what temp when the computer crashed. The whole system shut down on a safety I assume. Total power off except power to the mobo.

I may have fixed the issue. I went into the BIOS and set the case fans to turbo curve and its running a lot cooler at 70C with panel on and running superposition benchmark. Ill keep playing with the fans to get the least amount of noise and temp.

Thanks
