I'm looking at the low end of the market for a 34" 21:9 1440p monitor.

There are basically two models I have found so far
Samsung SJ55W 34" 75Hz ~$549 (flat)
Kogan 34" WQHD 100Hz ~$535 (curved)

The Samsung has reviewed very well. 3yr warranty.
The Kogan is.. kogan. Missing some functionality ie split screen/PIP. 1 yr warranty.

My question is, for those out there who have gone from flat to curved or the reverse... which would you prefer: curved or flat?

I bought a curved monitor recently. I didn't buy it for the curve so it is a bit of a non-feature to me but it seems to work well with the 21:9 aspect ratio.

Those are both VA panels which can a bit iffy when it comes to viewing angles so a curved screen may be the way to go.

I prefer curved. I really notice the different now going back to a flat monitor which sometimes seem to stretch away from me in a bad way. Not always great for certain tasks which require straight lines but I tend to use my laptop for that stuffs.

At those sizes, a correctly curved monitor keeps each corner of your peripheral vision in perspective. A flat-monitor would seem (slightly) smaller in each of the far corners.
I love my curved monitor.
