The Modern Warfare 2 ANZ Invitational, Sponsored by Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan took place this past weekend, and with the region's best players going head-to-head here’s a summary of all the action.

The first 8-team Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 ANZ tournament took place this past weekend at the epic The Chiefs Esports gaming house in Australia, with iconic local players, commentators and even some special guests on hand. Sponsored by Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan, it all happened just in time for the action-packed third season which you can watch right now on Prime Video.

The 4v4 Tournament made use of Call of Duty League esports rules for competition, utilising a standard map and game type rotation. Casters Miss MDK, Jordan Mays and Ben Green ensured viewers were engaged. The first match of the day was between Team Qrissy and Team Taylor Morgan with the former achieving a strong 2-0 win. This set the tone for some non-stop edge-of-your-seat Call of Duty gaming.

All of the action was delivered through 4v4 Single Elimination matches through a Best of 3 Series and a Best of 5 Final. Team Captains leading the charge were NoVitals, Vauxie, Joel Bergs, Taylor Morgan, GreedZz, Qrissy, HMay and Fangetta.

Here's highlights from The Modern Warfare 2 ANZ Invitational, Sponsored by Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan.

There was also a surprise treat for viewers thanks to a special ‘Rogue Round’, which saw JackoGFreak interrupting the tournament and going rogue - Jack Ryan style. All captains fought each other for a $1,000 prize with Qrissy emerging as the Rogue queen - avenging her team’s earlier knockout.

Of course the big event was the Best of 5 Final, which saw a 3-0 win for Team Vauxie against Japan-based team GreedZz. Vauxie’s squad took home the $8000 prize and Team GreedZz earned themselves $4000 for second place.

All in all a great slice of local esports action at The Chiefs Esports gaming house, and a great showcase for the brilliant and tense Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer.

The latest entry in Activision’s long-running series features both a cinematic globe-trotting campaign in addition to the next evolution of Call of Duty’s iconic multiplayer and Battle Royale-inspired Warzone 2.0. And when it comes to action on a global scale, Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan stars John Krasinski as the titular CIA analyst on a mission to prevent catastrophe. Also starring Wendell Pierce and Michael Kelly, you can watch the suspense and espionage-laden series’ third season exclusively on Prime Video now.
