Modern car games are either arcade as all hell, or they're as hardcore as hell. And more often than not, they're restrictive in player freedom. Well, not anymore.

Forza Horizon 2 has just become a real contender for Game of the Year and I'm not even a car videogames kind of guy, but dang does it just get so much right. And those visuals... oh man, those visuals.

Great review :)

I'll be interested to see how the 360 version reviews as well. I believe it runs on the same engine as Horizon 1

Are there any plans to review that version as well Steve ?

Only 9.4? You were clutching at straws to find things wrong with the game. It sounds like it should get a 9,8 or 9.9 based on the review text. The praise heaped on this game was so 1 sided that it looks like a paid advert. This triggers my suspicions. Not that I want to question anyone's integrity but, you know, when it sounds too good to be true.... :P

*Sigh* No one is getting paid to write nice things about nice games. If the game was terrible and it got 9.4, then your cause for suspicion would be valid. It's times like this Metacritic actually has a purpose because the consensus from my peers is pretty similar.

Not a lot of negatives, but still not a perfect game - just an excellent game.
