Or even, Borderlands but set in an Asian-style fantasy realm. Yeah, Shadow Warrior 2 is out next month for PC and does things a little differently than the last outing. Instead of linear corridor shooting we get open areas, enemies with health bars, damage numbers that bounce into the air with every melee or bullet hit, and different coloured loot drops.

And it looks, well, interesting. Adding the action-RPG elements of something like Diablo worked wonders in Borderlands so there's no reason why it shouldn't work in a DOOM-style action-shooter. Shadow Warrior is out October 14 for PC (with consoles to follow), and will offer up both a single-player and co-op experience.
